FRIENDS OF MINE

About Me

In 1987, three friends formed a group and created a very interesting mix of tunes. Led by a folk singer named Euge , and a guitarist/songwriter named Mark , they developed a style that was somewhat unique in its approach.....you could hear just about anything within the music. When their drummer Rabit (formely of the LA punk bands The Simpletones and "Chiefs") brought in a friend of his for the lead guitar spot, the group and the name were complete. Former Cheepskates guitarist David John Herrera would give the songs all of the color needed to compilment the lyrical phrasing. From Euge's tune about a drug addicted Hollywood groupie titled "Innocence Tarnished", to Mark's strange pop offering about being beaten and abused as a child in a song titled "Pain", the content of the tracks vary widely. Unfortunately, the group would not last until the end of the year. After a couple of Hollywood gigs at Raji's and the Gaslight, they disbanded only to leave behind a water stained proof sheet, and seven tracks recorded on a boom-box during a rehearsal at the infamous Wilshire Fine Arts Studios. If you wish, you can download all seven tracks (free of charge) by clicking here .
