Theres no way to sugarcoat it. It failed.
And it all falls on one person, one Executive Producer Chad Marshall. By the start of Episode #6 the production was bankrupted.
SPEED ordered 12 episodes and only 5 were ever delivered.
One Host was being paid $10,000 an episode, while the other got nothing but a promise of deferred pay.
Chad Marshall was even driving another contestants car as his own car and spending production money on nights in clubs. One night while tring to impress a woman, Chad bought a $1,200 cigar lighter while drunk and stoned. He tried to return it the following week with no luck. And he would brag about this, while production checks were bouncing.
One Key production person was his drug dealer, and had never set foot on a TV Show or Film, but was in charge of up to 5 people.
