Duffy McGee

In Belfast Ireland, circa 1885, a babe was born in a trough. Named by his virgin mother maria Duffy McGee, he grew to be a strong lad with a love for the fiddle and guitar. He immigrated to Hutchinson, Kansas in 1907 after being told of its mighty Arkansas River. Unimpressed with the stream, he began a life of boozing and cavorting that ultimatly led to his untimely death in the woods near Carey Park. There he lay, silent and still, until two young men with a penchant for gardening uncovered his bones. The spirit of Duffy McGee appeared to them and, over time, taught the two lads how to drink whiskey and play music with which to acompany it.And it was good.
