Band Members: The Empire (Jay Myztroh, Franchise, Dai Hard, Bay Bay, SteadieROC, and RJ Cutta) is a group that assembled in 2004. It orignally consisted of 8 members. We met through a recording project at FCCJ. We decided to make a mixtape together with the intent to finally complete a project and ease the load of a dolo project with the 8 of us. Because the Superbowl was on its way, our only goal was to complete and have it for that week. The work and dedication it took to make that happen both bonded us closer and cut down the number to 6 members. Mixtape Vol.1 Roll wit us or get ran over, met its deadline and the Empire had been born. Originally an affiliation, but now a super group of smaller groups and stand alone solo artists. 1,000 CDs were pressed and sold/given to the public. The majority of 2005 was spent in the studio where we compiled hours of music for months. The reason this was easy is that we kept the same work ethic that we applied to the 1st mixtape. Things began to shift more positive when group member Franchise began performing the song Dope Boy Lean, most mentionable would be the Bigga Rankin Performance the week before new years '06. Due to the strength of the song, more show opportunities (webbie/lil wayne openings) came followed by club spins (Roxy,Rain,Kartouche) and radio airplay on Hustler radio. This songs popularity has allowed a buzz for The Empire to make its presence known. Mid 2006, Elevation (Myztroh and Steadieroc of the empire) released the 1st Empire mixtape since 2005 entitled Elevate. That was followed by the recent Release of the Empire mixtape Vol. 2, Our Time is Coming in July. It has 14 original songs and a guest appearance by Grown Folk's very own Mr. Al Pete and Picasso. The roster is set for mixtape Volume 3 and Franchise's Solo Album UNCROWNED is due in November putting the Empire in position to make an even bigger impact on the Florida Hip Hop scene in 2007.
