My folks were always on me to groom myself and wear underpants. What am I, the pope?

About Me

My Facebook

I'm a 28 year old guy born and raised in Columbus , Ga. I graduated from Auburn Univeristy with degrees in Psychology and Criminology in 2001. I immediately put these to use by becoming the manager of two stores. Wait, how do those correlate again....

I have a boxer named Beren that enjoys eating my socks and peeing just outside the back door so that I step it in. His other hobbies include eating Mountain Dew bottles and kicking people in the testicles when they least expect it, which is always. No one ever expects it.

My Interests

Anime

I am quite the anime fan. I own a decent collection - around 50+ series with movies and OAVs on top of that. I am always looking for new shows to watch which leaves me with a constantly full 'To Watch' stack.

Currently Watching: Requiem From the Darkness, Eureka 7, Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, Hare + Guu, Fantastic Children

Recently Finished: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Air, Koi Kaze, Strawberry Marshmallow

Video Games

I own a Gamecube, Ps2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I much prefer my xbox and x360, but I love all my children. Catch me on Live:

I'd like to meet:

I want to give these guys money.

Joss Whedon

Wes Anderson

Phil Hartman

Oh, Emma. You and your crazy shenanigans.

Music:

I listen to everything, and I mean everything.

Television:

Do yourself a huge favor and pick up the complete UK series on DVD. Do yourself ANOTHER favor and buy seasons 1 and 2 of the US version so you can watch it on TV as it airs.

Heroes

I was skeptical when I first heard NBC was doing a show about superheroes. Man, was I wrong. Heroes is a fantastic show that you should definitely make an effort to watch. When season one is over it will be coming to HD-DVD, so get out there and buy those players.

Law and Order

Law and Order is consistently best shows on TV. You can jump into any episode and not be lost yet it still retains an underlying story that spans the shows entire run. To say I'm a fan is a bit of an understatement - although I don't lvoe the new cast

The Dresden Files

You know, I feel bad for the Sci-Fi channel sometimes. They keep making these great shows that a lot of people never find. The Dresden Files is based off the book series of the same name and follows a wizard named Harry (no, not Potter) as he runs a detective agency. Good times follow, as I'm sure you can guess.

Scrubs

I would call it a guilty pleasure but I don't feel guilty.

Now we enter Whedon-ville. List by order of original airing.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I've been with the show since season 1. That's right. While I much prefer the earlier seasons I definetly didn't turn on the show like some people. Season six, for all the crap it got, was great.

Angel

Ah, the spin-off. I love it. A lot of times I like it better than Buffy. Wesley and Cordelia become soooooooo much better. Much darker and definetly more serious - as far as a show about vampires can be serious. It's worth watching just to see how awesome Wesley becomes. It was canceled out of the blue and way too soon.

Firefly

What a great show. Fox really bumbled this one. Please, please buy the series on dvd. You won't regret it. Great writing, great characters. The humor is Joss Whedon at his best. It's worth watching just for {insert any character's name here. Seriously}. Check out the movie Serenity after you watch the series.

Smallville

What do I need to say? It's Superman! Kristin Kreuk, Erica Durance, kryptonite and superpowers. Michael Rosebaum is a great young Lex, too.

Futurama

I love this show much more than The Simpsons. Oh, yeah! I said it. It would be kind of hard to describe it to you, and at this point you've probably stumbled onto a rerun somewhere anyway. They are making 4 Futurama movies starting in 2007.

Books:

Be prepared!

Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien. For the record, I was reading this in 1994.

A Song of Ice and Fire Series byGeorge R. R. Martin

The Vlad Taltos books bySteven Brust

The Farseer Trilogy/The Tawny Man Trilogy by Robin Hobb.

Each and every Dragonlance book by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman

Harry Potter Series byJ.K. Rowling Read them before you make fun. Snape! /shakes fist

The New Jedi Order - Various Authors. After Empire Strikes Back they should have executed George Lucas. When it came time to make movies again they should have made these, not those lame prequels. Midiclorians...**shakes head sadly**

Besides fantasy I also read a lot of modern and classic literature. I even read a lot of non-fiction. Some favorites in no order:

The Monk - Matthew Lewis . Enjoyed by the Marquis de Sade. A great book.

Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal - Thomas Harris . I used to use to screen name Reddragon until the movie ruined it for me. Oh well. The books are all much, much better than the movies, as usual.

IT, Bag of Bones, Tommyknockers, etc. - Stephen King . It's Stephen King. That sums it up pretty well.

Mindhunter, Journey Into Darkness, Obsession, etc - John Douglas

Whoever Fights Monsters, I Have Lived in the Monster - Robert Ressler. Douglas and Ressler were the model for Jack Crawford in the Hannibal books.

David Sedaris

I also have a tendency to read college textbooks. Sometimes they are my old ones from school, sometimes they are ones I just bought to read. Learning if fun!

Many, many webcomics.
