About Me

..
Aaron Leigh was born and raised in San Jose, CA. He started playing the drums at the age of four, with the support of his Grandmother, who purchased his first set and showed him how to hold the sticks in the traditional way. Aaron was off and running down the Rock-n-Roll path. At age seven, Aaron picked up a guitar that his stepfather had lying around the house and started learning songs from his favorite band, KISS. “When I heard and saw Kiss at such a young age, I was HOOKED!", Aaron recalls. "I knew right then and there that I was going to be playing music for the rest of my life." By the age of ten, Aaron switched over to the electric guitar and formed his first band, THE WHEELS. After a few years of jamming with the local kids, Aaron realized the need for a bass player in the group, but everybody in the neighborhood played guitar or drums. So, Aaron picked up his first bass and from then on, it has been his main instrument. “There is such power with bass. It has a very commanding sound, like an earthquake under your feet or thunder in the sky! , says Aaron. Aaron's bass heroes include the likes of Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Gene Simmons, Tony Franklin, Rudy Sarzo, Marco Mendoza, Jack Bruce, Michael Anthony and of course Prince. Moving into his twenties, Aaron received a piano for his birthday and taught himself how to play. “Piano is such an emotional outlet for me.", Aaron says. It's like therapy for the soul. . . I can almost make myself cry while playing. It's a great feeling. Aaron has played in a variety of bands over the years; Metal band TALYON in the early 80's, Glam band SLEAZE in the mid to late 80's, Rock/Funk band CAT O' 9 TAILS in the early to mid 90's and in 1994 came a call from Sharon Osbourne inviting Aaron to audition for Ozzy. " I was scared shitless!" Aaron says. "It was a great opportunity which also provided me the chance for 3 separate auditons and to jam with guitar GOD Steve Vai & drummer Dean Castranovo! It will be something I will never forget!" Aaron has also shared the stage/jammed with the likes of, Gary Hoey, Jani Lane, Brad Gillis, Randy Castillo among some of L.A.'s other elite musicians. In the 2000's came along ELECTROMOTIVE which morphed into his current band... ECHO OF SOULS. In the mid 90's, Aaron took some time off from the “live” circuit to concentrate on learning the ropes of recording music. Recording, mixing and producing were the main focus up until around 2003. The time spent on learning the ropes of record production has finally paid off with taking on the p roducing and mixing dutys for his original act...ECHO OF SOULS...in 2005 their debut CD was born! The music speaks for itself...HARD ROCK FOR THE SOUL! As of January 2008 to March 2009, Aaron, recorded and played regional shows with California "Stoner Rockers" White Witch Canyon.
