About Me

Lots going on and up in the air for me at the moment; all good! Have become part of elecro music project ''Angel Unseen'' with Paul and Ian, hence the track 'Be With Me'. Yet another direction vocally. I'm so interested in what can be done with vocals, while and after, they're made re- Imogen Heap- Feist - KT Tunstall.
Writing songs has turned into a new thing for me too. Have had fellow myspacer Barry Eaton record one to his own music so I figure that officially makes me a songwriter! Fab. With more on the go and me having written lyrics to some of his music it's something acheived that I NEVER thought I had in me. It's definitely been a year for releasing creativity I didn't know was there. (There's a lesson learnt there somewhere eh?) have also discovered that when I'm high and happy l'm thinking of songs and lyrics.
I left a band in May07 hoping to find something that would challenge me more. A 'brave' move for me really, with nothing definite to go to as I love to be gigging, but it was the right the right thing to do. I was meeting no-one new, hearing nothing new and most importantly DOING nothing new myself!! In hindsight the most valualble thing that's brought me change and imagination is simpley MEETING PEOPLE!! Love to gig tho; and always looking forward to the gig fix!
I will be soon finally achieving an ambition of recording some classical pieces for a WEDDING sample cd. THere will be 4 classical piesces and 2 contemporary ones, to start. THey are done! 'Songbird' and 'Say a little Prayer''. I'm hoping that part of the attraction will be that I'm NOT a soprano, a little bit different . I love singing for weddings; it's such a buzz to be part of the big day. In the meantime I continue to sing with the excellent 'Harborough Singers', not a choral group you can hide in!!
I've done some session work which also included some radio voice work and jingles- funny! The radio work you really have to think about, not as easy as just talking, especially me who babblesBut interesting mostly because I found I could add to peoples original material even if the music wasn't neccesarily my cuppa t; it's surprisingly satisfying because they're happy with it. I have learnt such a lot recording with Earsight. And still learning all the time.
You can find some at www.earsight.co.uk - click on 'Recordings' and you'll see the link 'Kyle' at the top.
Feedback:
- ''Wow, where did that big voice come from?''
Sally and Adam's wedding Aug'08 'Say a little Prayer', vox and keyboard: a quote from the brides mum: 'that singing was so beautiful I could hardly concentrate on signing the registar!''
and from the bride: ''I knew I had to sign the register but I just wanted to listen to her ( Kyle) singing''
- ''Thanks Kyle for your wonderful singing at our wedding. Your voice left us all 'goose bumpy' and everyone asked who you were!''- Sarah
''What a great front man she is!!''

Band Members:
Me, Kyle!! But I have a good band too, we did a gig after being thrown together only 3 weeks before. I also get my music food fix acoustically and classically too. I get a performing fix from straight acting which I fell into about 5 years ago, so far, at the local Little Theatre. I'm really happy being me on stage so to be someone else is a great challenge. To be honest some of the stuff I've done has been a real privilage.
Influences: Musically:
Elizabeth Fraser, Julie Andrews Karen Carpenter, Massive Attack, Emma Kirkby, Sam Brown, Afrodisiak, Fat Boy Slim, John Lydon/PIL, Annie Lennox, Elvis, Linzi Hately, The Sundays, Bjork, The Mamas and the Papas, Petula Clark, Matt Belamy/MUSE generally, Kate Bush, The Beach Boys, Adam and the Ants, Howard Jones, Doris Day, Ed Alleyne Johnson's Purple Violin Concerto, Marvin Gaye, early Tina Turner on stage. The Sundays, I think that Sam Cooke's voice was sublime ...

Film and Tv :
The old, ''In Glorious Technicolour!'' musicals, 28 Days Later, Sean of the Dead, Dog Soldiers, F.F.Coppola's Dracula,The Fifth Element, The Alien Series, Little Shop of Horrors- altho specifically Steve Martin's dentist, Sense&Sensibility, The Matrix trilogy, The Lake House, LEON, Romeo is Bleeding, 'THE IRON GIANT' - laugh my head off every time I see it.

Favourite Books/ Plays:
Robert R McGammon's 'Swan Song', J.K.R's Harry Potter series, Jane Austen's 'Sense and Sensibility and 'Pride and Predjudice, William Shakespeare's The Tempest' and 'Othello', Terry Pratchetts 'The Fifth Elephant' and 'Good Omen's'. The Alfie books by Shirley Hughes
Sounds Like: I like to think I sound like me. I love to do original material but will take, at the least, the chance to sing and gig!

Who I'd like to meet: Elizabeth Fraser, David Attenborough, Annie Lennox, Mika, Gary Oldman, Stephen FRY

Food, bloody lovely food

Another good thing that's happened to me now that I have the oomph to do exercise is that I'm back to the old normal me and not thinking too much about the quantities of food. Oh good . . .
