I started rapping back in 1995. Me, my brother and some friends. I never really took it too seriously. Rapping was just something that was fun that we just used to play around with. The love that I had for the music made me want to do it. We used to buy singles that had the instrumentals on them. We had no choice but to make songs from the beats that were already made.
Sometime in 1999, I started becoming more interested in making my own beats and not rapping over other producers instrumentals. I wanted to be able to make them sound exactly the way that I wanted to, so I could have more control. So, I started learning more and more how to create different sounds & rhythms. I spent countless hours teaching myself how to make beats and in time they just got better & better.
2001 is when I really started to take my music more seriously. I started writing songs to my own beats and I’d think to myself how I was really good at this. I was taking it to another level and really feeling the music.
The past few years I just been working on getting better at what I do, from all different aspects. People always think that to be a rapper you got to look, act, or be a certain way, which is crazy to me. As long as you being true to yourself and doing what’s real to you, then that’s all that matters. I make music about my life, my thoughts & emotions, the way I feel. I can’t speak for anybody else, just me and from my perspective. I don’t (and can’t) make music about the typical partying, cars, jewelry, clothes, and stuff like that, cause that’s not me. That ain’t my life, it wouldn’t be right. But at the same time, I can’t knock anybody else for it. I still listen to a lot of that kind of music.
Right now I’m working on my 4th album, trying to come up with different ideas for beats, songs & album covers...
