Hello.
I am currently in the studio ( perhaps that should read ’finally’?) recording the follow up to that old debut solo album of mine ’Folk Songs’. My big brother and karaoke partner Dan Luscombe is helping me out in a producerish role , cos he has ears what I can trust, and at this point the whole thing looks like its shaping up to be a goddamn heartbreaker, kind of my ’Blood On The Tracks’ or ...i dunno... ’Seachange’ (Beck), but set in Northcote which I find much more exotic, perhaps I will include a song about a bookish young man finding love at The Movie Reel ( where as a small side note, I just found out I have a $90 dollar overdue fee owing! thats what you get for not taking episodes 8 through 12 of Twin Peaks back before going on tour for six weeks) , or a lanky lass dumping her stripey topped boy at Alphabet City over some $15 canned baked beans (oooo!!)
But alas, to be honst, I’m sailing in to uncharted waters.... but at least the songs are a: written, and b: currently being captured through microphones and leads.
Myself and a few of my friends (Luscombe, Bourke etc) are getting together on the 21st and 22nd of March at The Empress Hotel, Fitzroy, to present the new album in it’s entirety. Two nights of glorious wallowing and half-baked wisdoms, for you to enjoy. Opening up on the first of these two concerts is our main man and drinking buddy Ned Collette.
You should probably be there.
As you were.
