City Under the Sea

A trio hailing from Bay Village, Ohio, these guys are making some of the most original indie/experimental rock i've heard in a long time. With influences such as The Fall Of Troy and eclectic act Mars Volta , they are largely instrumental, although they have started to introduce some vocals. Their style is an almost pyschedelic experience. Taking a technique of building up the music into a cumultative climax, their songs always keep you interested. In a classic instrument set-up, with the McKenna brothers on guitar and bass and Griffin Reddy on drums, they manage to produce sounds unique to themselves. Be ready for tapping and effects pedals because they incorporate such things into a large part of their act.
