Mess With Texas started playing as a quintet 12 years ago as a highschool band named Paris Green. "The Green" was built out of pop- punk chord progressions with simple yet catchy leads brooding vocals and poignant lyrics. The band members were heavily influenced by the punk/pop scene in the early and mid-nineties including Superchunk and Built to Spill as well as great local bands from the Lehigh Valley such as Weston. The original line up included - Lee, drums - Jon, guitar - James, guitar - Stakey, bass - Andy, vocals.After a series of shows and some recording work Paris Green seemingly dissolved. However years later members of Paris Green were still humming the old Paris melodies. With three original members once again living in the Lehigh Valley it was clear that a reunion was in order.
Now, from a more mature angle, Mess With Texas re-created the old pop anthems and continues their passion and melodies with new material. The current foursome that makes up Mess With Texas includes Lee, drums - Jon, guitar/vocals Rick, bass/vocals and Andy, guitar/vocals. Stakey and James are also contributers.
