Airplanes to Athens - - In The Studio! - -

Airplanes to Athens formed in late December 2006 after local Lincoln bands Verb The Noun and Forever Tragic announced their retirement. Jesy and Rose form VTN and Greg from FT met at Knickerbockers when VTN opened for FT, the three hit it off nicely from there. Currently, Airplanes To Athens explores the boundaries of pop rock and acoustic dance creating a fresh sound different from most groups found in their hometown. The group’s enthusiasm for exploring their musical talents gives them the ability to break away from the traditional hardcore/screamo scene found in Lincoln. They have had tremendous success form their home recorded track “Chasing Rabbits” which can be heard on 90.3 KRNU and 89.7 The River in Omaha.
The group has been hard at work recording new demo tracks and playing shows at various venues in the Lincoln area. They have big plans for this fall in which they will participate in the new “Husker Tailgate Parties” that will be hosted at The University of Nebraska in Lincoln and will be opening for an disclosed group touring to UNL this fall.
