After too many months of inactivity, 404mf have decided to call it a day, sliding quietly out of the back door.
This was brought on by a multitude of reasons, including a wish to distance the band's and it's members reputations from any rumors, malicious gossip and accusations that have recently began to surface. However the more significant of these reasons is Dave Wells's recent diagnosis of an ongoing arthritic condition in his left leg, which he feels will severely impair his drumming ability. However, he will still be present in the Leicester music scene, in a new project with 404mf guitarist James. A complete departure from the metal/hardcore stylings of 404mf, this as yet unnamed project takes more cues from the 90's music scene and bands such as Carter U.S.M. and P.W.E.I. as well as Dave's love of catchy punk rock.
Additionally, Mitch and James have started writing for a new project, which will represent somewhat of a sonic departure from 404mf. This project will also be retaining one or two songs from 404mf's catalogue that the pair agree they don't want to let go. Outside of the songs, "Through the Lies" and, perhaps unsuprisingly, "Die Alone," the pair are working towards a new body of work, particularly driven and motivated by Kingdom of Sorrow.
404mf would like to thank every former member that had anything to do with any of their music and anyone who came to, put on or helped promote one of their shows. Any wishes will be well recieved and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
