Born in London, Patrick Atkinson began his musical adventure in the late 80's with his first band Elastic Hair. This alternative power pop three piece rocked London playing in all the small clubs and pubs of the city. The band unfortunatly split up when Patrick joined ex Jesus and Mary Chain guitarist John Moore and his band the Expressway. The band toured in the UK & USA to promote the album Expressway Rising with the likes of Pop Will Eat Itself, Crazyhead, Living Colour, My Bloody Valentine (in New York) and Jon Spencer's Pussy Galore just to mention a few. After this venture he worked in various London based bands such as P.S. Explosion, Honey Rider, Fly and Naked and colaborated with Slobodna Europa, the rocking Slovacian punk band based in Bratislava. Around 1996 Patrick moved to Paris and began working for a radio station (RFI) presenting a music show and started work on a new bunch of songs. Being detached from London and the change of enviroment helped the creative flow and the new songs were more atmospheric. He found the music that had been lurking in his mind all this time and formed the band Simbad that then became Technicolor hobo, playing mostly at film festivals & improvising with VJs at events organized by Cinefeel. In 2001 Patrick moved to Marseilles where he now lives and re-formed Technicolor Hobo with new musicians. Patrick recently worked on David Walter's first album, contributing his guitar playing & is also working on a solo acoustic project.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
