Michael received his bachelor of music, piano performance from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he's currently a full-time instructor of music; recording arts technology and piano. Michael also serves as the university’s staff accompanist for the theatre's ballet and modern dance program. On Saturday nights, Michael is the "house" keyboardist at the largest honky-tonk in the region, Jimmy Doyle's Country.
Since 1995, Michael Heavner has served as musical director/keyboardist on numerous musical productions which include; national tours of Blues in the Night, Idols of the King and Always Patsy Cline. As well as, productions of Guys and Dolls, The Full Monty, Always Patsy Cline, Godspell, Annie, The Sound of Music and Spit Fire Grill . Michael served as resident musical director/pianist for the musical, Lost in the Fifties at Center Stage Theatre in Mackinaw City Michigan, 2000-2001. Michael has also served as keyboardist/pianist for productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Dreamgirls, Cinderalla, Gypsy, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat, My Fair Lady, Cabaret, Children of Eden and the first national tour of Always Patsy Cline. In addition, Michael also served as conductor/keyboardist for the musical BeeHive, under the musical direction of Rick Sieber.
Other credits include, featured pianist on The Diamonds 2 live CDs; "Standing Room Only" and "Back by Popular Demand". As well as, keyboardist for Jeff Bates 1st CD; "Country's my Middle Name". In addition, Michael has performed with recording artist Earl Thomas Conley, Percy Sledge, Shelly Fairchild, Charlie Pride, Dale Hawkins, Narvel Felts and many others.
