In short, am a photographer and designer.
intro:
With a disappointment in the lack of childhood photographs, I have felt compelled to capture every moment that may become a memory. As I grew older and found very few pictures of my life, I took it upon myself to document the experiences I had. When the time came to choose a profession, photography was the obvious concentration for me. This past summer I spent it out in LA interning on set of shoots, assisting mentor of mine, Kevin Ou. Without taking any prior instruction/ classes, being self taught and determined I became completely dedicated into making visual art. Practiced technique for the first year, it came time to build my style as a photographer. I found myself drawn to fashion and portraiture.
I am inspired by the originals such as Nan Goldin and May Ellen Mark and by the fashion photographers Avedon, Juergen Teller, and Mario Testino. Their snapshot aesthetic transfers into my work. I believe it necessary to document the beauty of everyday life. I photograph my subjects the way that I would like to be photographed. The sensation of everyday life that we all feel inside is manifested in each photograph. I work to capture the raw, fleeting snapshots of life in which we all wish to live.
