Hi Friends, Thanks for being part of my network. Just to tell you a little bit about myself, I grew up in New York City. I’ve lived here forever!!! My Father is a singer and my Mother is artistically inclined and musical as well. I was too shy to sing in front of people when I was a kid, so art was my passion on display. Everyone thought I was going to be an artist. So I figured naturally that’s what I would do. One day in 1985 I heard Whitney Houston singing a song from her self-titled album on the radio. From that moment on I knew that’s what I wanted to do. I was always involved in the music programs at school. But at age 15 the cat finally came out of the bag. I was pressured into singing for my uncle’s wedding reception. They hired a live band. So since I just finished the musical production “A Chorus Line†at my Junior High School, (I was still terribly shy about singing alone) I agreed to sing the only song I could remember under such pressure. So for my uncle’s wedding I sang…get this title…â€Kiss Today Goodbyeâ€. LOL!!! Fortunately they are still married!!! In fact the Band Leader urged my parents to do something more about nurturing my new “not hidden anymore“ talent. So shortly after that my Step-father and Mom arranged for me to have opera training for a few years. It is the best foundation any singer can have! After a few years I unlearned some opera so I can sing more Gospel which is my favorite!! (Song writing came into the picture then as well. Poetry was always with me.) I stopped singing and writing and drawing after 10 years. Because of life and the fact that I was raising a family. The marriage didn’t last and I lost some of my voice training. I’m working again to get back to doing something I love so much! Music!!!
