I'm Samantha. I was made in the 80's. Born in snooze-ville, Ohio. Otherwise known as Shelby. I'm the middle child. Sucks. I was raised by a single mom, who didn't own a pair of jeans.Piano was my first love. We were introduced at age 5.At age 8, I was informed (on a park bench) that the man I was being told was my father, really wasn't. After the news, I was given purple rock candy, and told "I would be just fine"... That day, started my journey to finding my real dad.I sang in church. I wrote songs of my own, but noone knew.I grew up pretty fast. Even I was surprised to be dancing to the last song at my senior prom. Graduation came and left me, just as love did that year.Three days after graduation, I moved out on my own. Like I always dreamed... but I didn't think that I would be moving into the very same apartment that I was concieved in... (weird... but true)On my own, I continued to search for my dad... On that fatefull day, in Novemeber of 2004 I was given an address by a policeman. He had given my dad a seat belt violation that previous year. I found myself in a car, pulling into a driveway. Wondering. Is this really it? Am I ready to knock on that door? For a moment, I sat staring at that door imagining him on the other side. What would I say to my dad for the first time. I was 19. He should have been at my birthdays! He should have been proud of my gradecards! He should have talked my mom into letting me go to my friends house! He should have been threatening my boyfriend!... But when I first saw him. He knew my name. I told him I was his daughter, and that I have alot of questions. He offered me two choices, he said "You can punch me, but I'd really like a hug?" So there I was, 19 years old and hugging my dad for the first time.That Christmas was our first Christmas. He bought me a keyboard! He really encouraged my music. I had recently picked up guitar, and played a few of my original songs for them. I had always wondered where I got my musical interest from. But now I know.It's been a bumpy ride. Friends, lovers, and even family have come and gone. But music has never left my side, and it never will.
