About Me

Cortney McGuire & Leah Nelson started on this collaborative journey some years ago. At first they really just wanted to make themselves laugh and cause a raucous. They soon realized they had a voice, something to say, and an audience to listen.

These are clips from "Separation Anxiety: a non-clinical approach", a 20 min piece, still in the creation process. Performed by Leah and Cortney with original, live music by Marques Toliver.
"a fantastic and moving ode to awkwardness" -The Nolan Review
Clips from "my space is sometimes yours", a 25 min piece performed at the Boulder International Fringe Festival.
“Cortney and Leah have developed a unique movement vocabulary that they wear like a second skin. They dance with an abandoned energy that is tenderly wrought and magically controlled. Their work is funny and wise as it exhibits of a painfully real blend of innocence and roughness brought to light by their own and their well-chosen dancers' distinct character-driven performances. Experiencing fivefour's dances is like watching children idiosyncratically struggle to express themselves and relate to others, making the most inane pursuits to connect with another feel absolutely essential, huge, practically noble.”
