About Me

I'm a writer/archivist, or is that archivist/writer? The archivist is the boring part and unfortunately doesn't involve doing anything particularly interesting, so the less said about that the better (and I've already wasted too many words on why I'm not going to be wasting any more words). On the writing side, I've had a story published in Mam Tor's Event Horizon - have one lined up for a future edition, if we ever see it again. I also have two comic book projects on the boil with King Tractor Press. And I'm working on a children's novel at the moment, although that one doesn't have a home to go to.

My Blog

Havent blogged here for a while

I've been a bit remiss with my blogging lately - haven't much been in the mood for telling everyone what's been going on, so here's a bit of a digest catch-up of what's been happening with me.I've sta...

Adventures with colds

So there I am, for the first time in however many years, I agree to go to work's Christmas party and I'm actually looking forward to it.  The day before (Monday) I'm going out to see a radio come...

Come stai?

Found myself at a bit of a loose end since finishing the novel.  I feel as if I've completely drained my creative batteries and need a serious recharge, but I don't want to be completely unproduc...

Novel length

80,000 words has always been a bit of a goal for me.  Anything over 45,000 words is generally considered a novel - the Hugo Awards consider anything over 40,000 words, but they're run by the scie...

Word count update

Although I'm sure no one's paying any attention to the details (I know at least a couple of people read these things, but I hardly expect you to keep up with the minutia of my exact word count) - I sa...

Good Reads

My latest waste of time is a networking site for bibliophiles where you can catalogue your book collection.  Actually I can see it being a lot more useful than other social networking sites - at ...

Word count

Novel now stands at 48,000 words, so that's 9,000 for the week.  According to my rough plan I should only be on 36,000 words at this part of the story.  If I carry on the way I've been going...
