Andy Declerck

I was born in Kortrijk, Belgium in 1975. At the age of 10 I started studying saxophone. At the age of 13 I studied 3 years with classical saxophone player Rudy Haemers. After my studies as engineer, I had my first jazz lessons with saxophone player Frank Debruyne. At the age of 25 I went to the Conservatory of Gent, and followed lessons with Frank Vaganée, Dieter Limbourg, Marc Godfroid and Nico Schepers.
Beside my own Andy Declerck Quartet and Andy Declerck – Kari Antila Group, I play also in Tuesdaynight Orchestra, Pieter Vandergooten Quartet, in the salsa big band Mucho Gusto, The Almost Swinging JazzBand, and as a freelance musician. I had concerts with Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Hans Van Oost, Frederik Leroux, Herman Pardon, The Beethoven Academy, Tivoli Band, Dirk Vanderlinden, ...
