About Me
"Early 2002; the beginning. Pouring out riffs, arrangements and songs that didn’t’t quite fit the formula of first priorities Komotio and The Severed Ways. Action: create something else, aside of the regular undertakings. Fartgod saw the day of light/dark of night. The first song ever to emerge from the mind of Fartgod was “Soulspasmâ€, a dark metal/rock song with a neckbreaking groove. Second up was “Unorganic lies†which held a lot more uptempo and a hectic beat, but with the same kind of vibe as “Soulspasm“. They just seemed to tag along each other very well. After a few months time came down to recording, a somewhat spontaneous session without given purpose or pressure. Just throw the shit out and hope the tape catches most of it, sort of. The openminded, one-man-terrorsquad of Daniel Jansson, entered the Abyss Studio in the steaming hot July, to team up with well-known producer Tommy Tägtgren. Lyrics wasn’t written at the time, but the music turned out surprisingly good. Later on, vocals were added and the whole package released as a solo demo. Honestly, the name “Fartgod†came from…well, nowhere. It’s an alias under which kind of anything can happen – a musical playground, so to speak.
However, the time was March -03 and the demo was done. And it actually received a lot of good critics from a lot of recordlabels and fanzines.2003 also saw five new songs take place below the Fartgod’s belt. In January -04 Abyss had a revisit where all five new songs was recorded in just two days. And hands down, that was a tough one. Don’t think it’s gonna happen again, ever. Unfortunately these songs never made it out to public ears, due to lack of cool enough ideas when it came to lay down the vocals.
Except for one song. That bastard’s gonna make it all the way to an upcoming promo.Late 2004 brought bad ass drummer Claes Carlsson onboard, and after jamming some old Sepultura tunes, the old Fartgod songs and other brutal stuff a very dynamic and creative musical partnership was established. He joined the ship as fulltime member. Better to split the burden, hell and consequences in two…J
In the spring of 2006 Fartgod appeared live on stage for the first time ever. The lineup: Daniel Jansson (guitar, vocals), Claes (drums), Erik Kilström from Komotio and Sharon handling the bassguitar and Pär Carlsson from popmetal outfit Dolly, swinging the sixstringed axe.
To keep it short: a really great gig!New songs were written during -06 and recorded in the Abyss (of course), may -07. Vocals were recorded in the middle of December the same year. Fartgod is currently quite busy writing and rehearsing new songs and some gigs are planned for the summer. Please feel free to come along for the ride."
