About the Artistthe writer – the composer – the singer – the producerSerendib (Prabath Nanayakkara) is a dedicated medical doctor and a passionate singer-songwriter and composer, native of, beauty in abundance country, Sri Lanka. In 1981 he started studying for his MBBS degree in Sri Lanka but after four years when the universities were due to civil unrest, started pursuing a music carrier and formed a band called The Medix. In 1986 they scored a number 1 hit called “how can I say to you” in the Sri Lankan charts. However, in 1989 he fled his country and finally ended up in The Netherlands. Received from The Dutch government a visa on compassionate grounds to follow further higher studies. Finished his MD in 1995 and started fellowship in internal medicine. Now working as a consultant physician in a university hospital in the capacity, head of the internal medicine outpatients department. Prabath has already published more than 30 papers in peer reviewed medical journals including The Lancet and Archives of Internal Medicine. No more life on run. Soul is in peace and full of desires, once again passion blooms in his creative music. With music as carrier and new approach to life, DPN has been recording some of his own songs for the last couple of months. This mini-CD Love, Songs and despair (Experience of life – Passion to live) contains four of those songs and he is planning to record more songs in the coming months.
