Hard infectious grooves, catchy hooks, all done with true Oz pub rock class and character. Dead Canary is like the Bob Jane All Rounder of music – all weather, with plenty of grip and with a low profile. The sonic incidents these blokes produce ain’t no Pink Floyd – ‘The Wall’, but they definitely have a certain charisma and rough charm that has your feet a’tappin along.Skamp Y.(Drums & Vocals) formed the band in early 2007 with Heavy N.(Guitar & Vocals). Riot O'B(Bass & Vocals) was invited along, thought the band sucked and promptly joined in. Eventually the sound has refined to what has become affectionately known as, HAM/CHEESE/TOMATO ROCK’N’ROLL.June 2008 had Dead Canary recording their debut release. Originally titled ‘The Very Best Of..’ the band have decided to call this EP ‘All Flap No Fly’.
It features 7 tracks and was recorded in their rehearsal room with Robert B. Dillon engineering. They took this down to Sing Sing Studios in Richmond and mixed it down. If you haven’t listened to it, do so now.The band would be reasonably content being holed up in their rehearsal space in Templestowe but the lure of a few free beers and a fruit platter gets them out performing live. Keep an eye on this page for gigs. Live Dead Canary is rawkus, sometimes rough but always a good time.So, what drives these 3 strapping Taurean Lads?
