Born a victim to the infamous 'C-Section' and responding to the name Matthew G. H. Babb, a 9 pound 11 ounce baby graced the earth July 21st 1988. With an advanced understanding from as early as the age of 2, Cruz picked up the E Flat Alto Saxaphone at the age of 8 and raced away to Grade 3 ABRSM (Associated Board Of Royal Schools Of Music) practical and theory within 2 years. Using the instrument throughout his secondary school education and also to achieve a passing grade in his CXC (Caribbean Examinations Council) music exam 2005, Cruz under the powerful word of the late Janice Millington used classes to learn the dos and don'ts of the music industry and gain exposure to a wider range of musical genres.
However, the influencial pop culture was favorited by Cruz and his artistic side brought to the fore-front of his life as a person and musician inspired by a dream to make Black Entertainment more recognized and respected than it has ever been. The first step to such an achievement is the group CENTRE OF ATTENTION, the trio that literally walks into the hearts of those who listen to their music from the first bar of each song.

Cruz is under the impression that the world needs a new landmark of talent / sound / image / poise on and off of the stage and natural swagger to carry oneself as a respectable artist. As he seeks to broaden his horizons as a singer / song-writer / recording and performing artist, the drive to improve on an overall basis has also generated a love for working behind the camera from photography to the conceptualization of videos.
