About Me

John Eberly has been performing in and around the Wichita -Hutchinson area since 1984 with bands including The Mumbles, The Eberly Brothers, 626, The John Eberly Band, and many, many others. He has recorded several solo albums, most recently IMAGINATION (2004), RETOX (2006), and BEAUTIFUL DREAM (2008).BEAUTIFUL DREAM is the second cd by John Eberly & band -the first being RETOX- recorded by Josh Davies. BD includes Josh's fine keyboard work and three of his own compositions. Other musicians on BD included Dayton Hodson on bass, Nathan Francis on drums, John Depew on Lap Steel, and of course, John Eberly on guitars and vocals. Ken Haug, John's old band mate in The Mumbles, also plays lead guitar on four tracks. The RETOX cd featured the talents of John E. (guitars, bass, and vocals), Josh D. (keyboards, synthesizer) and other musicians including Matt Penner (drums/percussion), Katherine Eberly (backing vocals) and Josh Goss (saxophone, harmonica, & flute).Live shows followed with a band of gypsies line-up including John E., Josh D., Matt, Katherine, Josh G., Curtis Page (bass/2nd guitar), Dayton Hodson (bass), Nathan Francis (drums/percussion), and John Depew (Lap Steel). The line-up has fluctuated between 3 - 6 members @ a gig. Shows have recently featured the catalog of John E's new, old, and in-between songwriting alongside the accumulating list of groovin' songs written by Josh Davies. In 2005-2006 John Eberly's Imagination (Band) formed to perform songs from John Eberly's solo cd IMAGINATION Besides John E. on guitar and vocals, the band featured at different times, Britt Rosencutter (drums)Tom Page (guitar), Jon Eaton (guitar), Jesse Howes (sax), Chris Kline (drums), Pete Studtmann (bass), and Shawn Nichols (guitar).IMAGINATION was recorded in Lawrence by John's EBERLY BROTHERS collaborator Joel Sanderson, and in Wichita by Tom Page, and featured a stellar group of musicians including Bill Goffrier (Embarrassment, Big Dipper, 626) on one track. It was released on the Top Tone label.John continues to perform as a solo act, in tandem with Katherine Eberly, and with Josh Davies, with his current band, and in new projects as they arise. He is a published author (see Amazon.com) and acclaimed graphic artist, profiled in Comics Journal 96. He has infrequent gallery shows of his oil and acrylic paintings and collages. For more info see johneberly.com
