We are a Gypsy Jazz band based in Newark, Nottinghamshire. We all play for our love of music and have full time careers outside of this passion. Filippo, Antoine and Bruno are violin makers, Martin is a guitar maker and Catherine is a mathematician.
We have all come from different musical backgrounds: Filippo trained at the Conservatoire in Perugia studying classical piano before moving on to jazz. Bruno is a self-taught musician and has an ability to pick up almost any instrument. Martin has studied gypsy jazz guitar playing and has played with various groups across France before coming to England. Antoine has also played with gypsy jazz bands across France and numerous bands in England. Catherine was originally classically trained on clarinet and piano before picking up the double bass and starting jazz.
Above are some tracks from our first CD, we hope you enjoy them. We also toured of the South of France from 14th to 24th July 2008 so check out our photos to see more. In 2009 we will be touring France again and may even make it all the way down to Perugia (Italy)!
