About Me
These guys are friends of mine, check um out,,,fukkin like um...and dont be bashfull about leaving comments ya lazy fkrs!!!!Joe(joejoe) Reynolds...Born in Lynchburg, VA. in April of 1971 ,Moved with my mom to Floyd County, VA. in 1973. Raised by my single mom and Grandparents untill 1976 when mom married my step dad. From that time on I was raised in Indian Valley, a SMALL town in backwoods Floyd County, going to school and working for my step dad in his nursery through the summers.
My mom had an old acoustic she had dragged around with her for as long as I could remember but I never heard her play it, it was left in a closet and forgotten most of the time,I picked it up one day (about 7-8 years old)out of bordom and beat on it for a few hours and put it back up , and again it was forgotten...I remember going to a place one night, a garage ,hidden in the Indian Valley hills, where my step dad and his friends would pick up thier moonshine, but this one time I got to ride along,...sitting in the truck ,in the dark ,alone, 9 years old, I noticed the sounds of Bluegrass music ,laughter , and a bunch of "hoopin' and hollerin'" coming from the garage, and being the harded headed, rebel child I had become,,, I got out of the truck and went on in. The garage was full of smoke and drunks and in the middle of the room were 7 or 8 musicians on stools and jumpin around in a circle , singing and playing. I had never seen so many adults having that gooda time and the music these guys were playing sounded like a recording or the radio, guess I was hooked from that point on....Months went by and one day I had that old acoustic out on the deck beating and banging around on it and one of the guys from the garage pulled in, he walked up to where I was sitting and asked me how long I'd been playing to which I answered "Not as long as you" and he laughed...and told me he had been playing music for over 40 years,,,Imagine 40 years in a 9 year old mind...He sit down on the bench beside me and showed me a "D" chord(all my lil fingers could reach) and made me practice strumming it and he went on in the house to see my step dad...Well I guess the folks got tired of hearing a "D" chord over and over so they took the guitar away...But it didnt end there...Just before my 12th birthday my mom ask me if there was anything I wanted...she was shocked when I said "an electric guitar" since I had been raised around music from Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles and what ever new rock was hot then...well ... I got my guitar...just a small starter package I wish I had kept (1956 Sears Silvertone with the amp built into the tweed case) and started beating around again...had a few friends show me a few chords and teach me a song or two and from then on I have been self taught and figuring songs out by ear and making a few up as I go...after quite a few years of drugging and drinking and being a roadie and a spotlight tech on up to lighting engineer and hanging around in the local and main stream music scene I decided to give my body a well needed rest and went back into the daily grind of a weekly paycheck...I broke a few laws and done some time along the way and
I moved back to Floyd,Went back to work as a sheet metal mechanic doing industrial and commercial HVAC, Got certified as a mechanic, and now I'm 36, married, run my own siding and renovations company,Professional Tattooing, made a full circle , live in Floyd, and have started to build back my musical surroundings....I'm not lookin to make money or get famous I'm just having a good time...and whether you like my music or not...you can bet your ass I'm having the time of my life doing it!!!
Peace and keep checking back...I'm always changing my styles....laterzz
