Hi all. I was born in England and family emigrated to Australia in the sixties.I finished my secondary education there. I worked mostly inland on properties ranging from sheep to cattle holdings. My first ever guitar lesson was given to me my a native Australian who was into Slim Dusty.So I learnt the wonders of three guitar chords. I was in a duo for a while. One day a guy said to me." I reckon you could sing Johnny Cash songs. "Johnny Cash" I asked myself. I listened to songs by Johnny Cash.heard other great singers like Waylon Jennings,Merle Haggard,Willie Nelson,Buck Owens,Gene Watson,Lefty and of course not forgetting Hank Williams senior. From then on I was totally hooked on Country Music.So many great singers,so many great songs.It is the lyric which gets to me,sometimes one can hear a song and it stays within you forever...I Never Go Around Mirrors........ comes to mind.....I think to myself how much anguish and heartache the writer was going through when he penned those lyrics. Enjoy listening to George Strait,David Ball,Dwight Yoakam,Wayne Hancock and many other singers.Have liked Emmylou for ages too.He says smiling to himself. I have written some songs and enjoy the challenges of writing.Some times it is just a chord progression,other times it is an event or spoken word.I dont know how many times I have said to myself."
