About Me


Takeo Sato was born 1982 in Saarbrücken (Saarland, Germany), at the age of 9 he got his first guitar lessons with Prof. Ansgar Krause. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------- From 1995 until 2001 he studied at the "Hochschule des Saarlandes für Theater und Musik Saarbrücken" and the "Hochschule für Musik Augsburg" as young student. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Starting his major studies with Prof. Franz Halász at the "Hochschule für Musik Augsburg" in 2001 he finished the first phase in 2005. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------- From 2005 until 2007 followed a second phase, postgraduate study with Prof. Zoran Dukic at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hage, Holland. In July 2007 he recieved the master diploma. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------- From 2005 until 2007 he worked as the assitant of Prof. Franz Halász at the "Hochschule für Musik Augsburg" and had the oportunity to work with one of the most successful guitar classes of Europe. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ Since 2008 he is guitar teacher at the Leopold Mozart Centre of Music of the University Augsburg (former music academy of Augsburg) and is building up his own guitar class. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------- At the age of 12 Takeo Sato started performing regularly in Germany, Austria, Italy, England, Korea and Japan and attended successfully in competitions such as "Jugend musiziert" (1st Prize in Erlangen, Leipzig, Berlin), "Anna Amalia" - guitar contest (2nd Prize in Weimar), "Admira International Guitar Contest" (1st Prize in Bath), "41st International Guitar Competition" (4th Prize in Tokyo), "2nd European Mandolin and Guitarfesival" (2nd Prize in Otzenhausen) and furthermore prizes like the special prize of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ In 2000 Takeo Sato recorded Luciano Berio's Sequenza XI (live at the Prologue Festival of moder Music, Saarbrücken), Mauro Giuliani's Gran Sonata Eroica and William Walton's Five Bagatelles, broadcasted by the radio station "Saarländischer Rundfunk". In 2003 he recorded the album "SUMMIT" together with the Croatian Guitar Quartet. The album features works by Astor Piazzolla.
