Band Members: “Pas De Chat†is an acoustic and classic guitar recital that takes us on a broad musical journey.
PAS DE CHAT: SABINO DE BARI COMPOSITIONS,GUITARS,GRAPHICSWith a leap reminiscent of the famous dancing step, which was inspirational for the CD title and the four movements composition here included, the audience will quickly find out in every track new linguistic and expressive musical experiences. The classic guitars tracks, part of this musical journey, show the composer’s inclination towards a language, not strictly academic but, nonetheless, bursting with the new overtone-melodic resources that arises from the jazz style fusion with the twentieth-century classical stance. The result is a more complex musical atmosphere charming by its expressive vitality. At the same time, the acoustic guitar compositions rediscover the simplicity of several melodic harmonies intensified by an exalted technique which runs through the album without being its absolute goal. The musical attitude adopted by the author Sabino de Bari in “Pas De Chat†clearly shows him as a performer of his own music, although unequivocally emphasising the compositional act itself.
Influences: VOICES:DE BARI SABINO COMPOSITIONS,ARRANGING, GUITAR, GRAPHICS(WWW.MYSPACE.COM/SABVOICES) “Voices†project was established by the cooperation between Sabino de Bari, musician and composer, and the “Whimsy Sounds Vocal Trioâ€, a new and uncommon vocal group. The project aims at finding a musical dialogue between the different instruments, above all guitar and voices. This “relationship†is created first of all by a choral use of the voice, almost always without making use of any lyrics; in fact this process wants the audience’s attention to be focused on the tones and the sound of the voice treated as an instrument among other instruments, without searching for other interpretations than the musical one. This dialogue pointedly appears also in the numerous choral or solo improvisations, performed on the guitar and with one or more voices simultaneously; anyway this “interplay†which is at the basis of improvisation itself enhances the willingness to dialogue of the various parties. This dialogue is also due to the frequent use of the counterpoint with voices (and not only) both in the themes and in their developments, in order to give each voice its own independence although maintaining a strong link with all other voices. If the special treatment accorded to voices patently wants to highlight the sense of belonging to the European music, it is for sure jazz music in its most modern meaning that embraces everything. Here swing music (a rhythmic concept more than ever in search of its own contemporary identity) is the connection for a global melting of musical experiences that are totally different from each other but that the historical process tends more and more to blend.
