About Me

Horror movies, oldskool dance music, going out and getting very, very drunk, that pretty much sums me up, oh and video games, when will I ever grow out of that? Not anytime soon I tells thee! Owned a horror site for the last 5 years: DVD House of Horror and get sent films to review all the time for free which is cool, but as I said when I'm not playing video games or watching horror movies drunk I'm collecting tunes from back in the day.... while drunk. 1991/92 were the years that really blew my head off with regards dance music, albeit I was too young to attend any of the events at that time I still collected the tapes from the big ones like Fantazia and Raindance, as well as the sets from the weekly clubs like Quest and The Edge etc.

From 92' onwards every penny seemed to go on vinyl, started out on Citronic belt drive decks, them were the days! Mixing has been a passion since I was about 15 and although you don't get too many technical DJ's with the oldskool UK sound, there were exceptions like Slipmatt, Sy, Pilgrim, Ratty and Hype on the hardcore side and Nipper and Vertigo on the house side who I respected more for their skills, they would cut and scratch like lunatics where everyone else on the whole just blended tracks into one another, BORING! I was also a regular at Club Kinetic (Stoke) from 1995 onwards but by that time the real magic had gone....

I would like to state though that I am all for the nu-skool breaks tunes coming out at the moment, some heavy tunes being made by a few of the lads, namely Portal, DJ Nee, Damage Inc. and the Mad Cow boys, keep it up lads. Special shout out to my man Faceme, current DJ scratching and mixing it up like it should be, Hype better look out fella your on his case.

Big shout out to the Pirate Revival crew, you know who you are, the internet's finest oldskool internet radio station, also a special mention to the OLDSKOOL 88-94 room on Soulseek where not only have I made countless friends, but have collected loads of tunes I never thought I would hear again.
