Philippe loli has played all over the world in Asia (China, Japan, Taiwan, South Corea), in the Usa, in South America (Venezuella, Guatemala, Salvador) and all over Europe (Berlin - Philharmonie , Frankfort - Alte Oper, Cordoba - Festival de Guitarra, Venezia - Teatro La Fenice, Paris - Festival de Guitare de Radio France, London - Wigmore Hall, Austria with the Tonkünstler Orchestra conducted by Kristjan Järvi, etc....). He is a virtuoso of the guitar whose interpretations of the guitar repertoire, from J. S. Bach to contemporary music, are in the grand tradition.
He has recorded CD as soloist, in chamber music and with orchestra (one of them, the “24 caprichos de goya†by M. C. Tedesco in live and world premiere). Philippe Loli is also a composer, and as such finds interest in all kinds of music, from classical music to pop songs and film music. His “Concerto Azzurro†for guitar and string orchestra was composed and created during the year 2000 with the Soloists of La Scala di Milano and in 2004 he has written, the “Four Winds Concertoâ€. After a first record with John Mc Laughlin “Time Rememberedâ€, he took part in “the Promiseâ€, along with legendary figures such as Paco de Lucia, Al di Meola, Sting, etc... In 2003, he records a new CD “Thieves & Poetsâ€, an Orchestral Suite with “ I Pommerigio Musicale di Milano†and as soloist, Viktoria Mulova, Paul Meyer and Matt Haimovitz. Born on 19 November 1961, Philippe Loli is actually professor at the Music Academy of Monaco who he has studied with Pier Domenico Amerio, a disciple of Andrès Segovia.
Philippe Loli play as solist, on recital and with orchestra, he is a member of the Aighetta Guitar Quartet since 1979 (www.aighetta.com). He plays in Chamber Music with the great chinese violonist Zhang Zhang (www.zhangzhang.com), with mandolinist Sabine Marze (1rst Prize of the International Competition in Osaka), with the French Accordeonist Christiane Bonnay and with the Danish mezzo soprano Pernilla Aidt. He also plays jazz standart and his own compositions with jazz guitarist Norbert Proust, Leopoldo Giannola and Ciro Ettore. He has recorded and played all over India in 2007 on trio with Thakur Chakaprani Singh. Since 1996, he plays with traditional gipsy musicians like Tchanelas and Luna Gitana.
