The work is an expression of more than 30 years of writing and performing original music compositions for piano. The objective of this work was to record a collection of pieces which reflect a diverse influence of music and sounds ranging from a new repertoire of classical sounds to minimalist sounds in a more contemporary form. As a professional piano builder working in the rebuilding trade Dan's focus on sound is paramount to style and genre. Dan attempts to avoid predictability of style while demonstrating the tonal and harmonic abilities of his instrument. However, he admits, the more than sixty minutes of music on I Saw It Coming is only a faint shadow of the possibilities.
