Drummer/Composer/Producer Stockton Helbing has accomplished more by the age of 28 than many musicians do in a lifetime.
Stockton attended the University of North Texas where he was a member of the famous One O’clock Lab Band. Immediately after graduating from North Texas, Stockton was hired by legendary trumpet player Maynard Ferguson.
Stockton spent almost four years touring around the world with Ferguson until the jazz legend’s sudden passing in August 2006. In addition to being a featured soloist, Stockton served as Music Director, as well as Producer, for Ferguson's final, Grammy nominated studio album, The One and Only.
Over the past two years, Stockton has been busy performing coast to coast. He frequently appears as a guest artist and clinician at high schools and universities around the country as well as recording and touring with various jazz, pop, rock, and country musicians.
Stockton has two critically acclaimed albums out under his own name that feature not only his drumming, but also his band leading and composing skills.
In addition on his playing, producing, and teaching, Stockton launched his own record label, Armored Records, which focuses on all original music releases.
