I can't stand people who claim to be into animal rights and the environment but don't actually do anything about it. If you care, live your life in a way that shows it. Otherwise, stop pretending just to make yourself look good or hide from the fact that you're as bad as everyone else.
I think everyone should spend large amounts of time in the woods, on a bike, in the water, in their bed, laughing, learning, and being in the company of their friends. At the same time, people should spend as little time as possible in their car, at work, not having fun, and worrying about what other people think.
I love punk rock. I love the earth and everything living on it so I live my life as cruelty free as possible. I do all I can to keep from supporting the large corporations who control almost everything. I try to be active in the things I believe in. I have an incredible girlfriend. I live in a dirty apartment with two dirty boys and a sink of dirty dishes. I despise the president and his terrible decisions as well as his mindless followers. Also, I can't eat anything sweet unless I have something salty to eat after. It's weird.
Here's something that bothers me. I can't stand "punks" who have no idea what it's about. I don't want to be one of those dicks with a "punker than thou" attitude but I look at it the same way as someone who says they're into animal rights but eats meat. Just because you listen to the casualties and have a mohawk doesn't mean you're a punk. It's a lifestyle, like veganism, and it's a movement. The roots have been completely lost because of shitty bands like rancid and the dropkick murphys. Even the punkcore records bands. I realize that for a lot of people those bands bring you deeper into punk and help you realize what it's really about. Just make sure you do that and don't end up missing the whole point. Also, there's no such thing as christian punk or hardcore. If you're into that shit, you're a fucking moron.
