About Me

YOku iRASSHAI MAshitaI don't feel like I'm 46. I'm in college and getting ready to start a new life - if I ever get out of college LOL. I was married summer 2007 and my kids are getting older..... Part of me wants to be comfortable in my familiar surroundings and part of me is inquisitive and wants a new life. I guess it's the confusion of the age versus where I am in life. I'm doing this myspace thing because I think it's a great way to explore who you are and be self expressive. By the way YOku iRASSHAI MAshita is Japanese. It means "I'm glad you came here". I love the Japanese language. I'm not very good at it because I have no-one to practice it with - I'm usually too busy anyway with school. I would like to work on my Japanese more when I graduate. I'm really "in to" healthy living like nutrition, indoor air quality, exercise, etc. I want to be living healthy, capable and vigourous when I'm old and that's the way to do it. Too many people in this country have Diabetes, Heart Disease, and many other chronic diseases/conditions. Lifestyle (diet, stress, sleep, smoking, exposures, etc.) is the predominent contributor. I have to admit I'm currently working hard on getting enough sleep myself. Behavior change is a very hard thing to do. My belief in living a healthy lifestyle sometimes drives my kids crazy but its who I am. I also love Canada! When I graduate, that's where I'm moving. They are very environmentally aware (at least where I'm moving) and take care of their citizens. I went to Canada a year or so back and spoke with a number of Canadians. They all said their healthcare system rocked! It's terribly sad that so many people in this country don't have health insurance. Oh ya, I'm a tom-boy. I like being involved in little league sports - assistant coaching with my son and managing teams, being involved in homeschool gym classes and dodgeball. I also like to climb trees and like being outside. When I was little I always had scrapes on my knees. Finally got over that. :)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The Dalai Lama,Brad Pitt, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama! or Michael Moore. I would have liked to have met the late Michael Rearden. In the real world I like to meet people who are kind and a little different - people who think outside the box. Being a passionate person myself, I adore people who have a passion in their life or who are passionate about life.
