DAWNFADES exists since 1995.
Everything began as a sideproject for the musicians Bene (drums)
and Konno (guitar) from the band "Subliving" as well as Heiner (bass) and Hartwig (vocals)
from the band "Cockaigne". But there easily grew up more than only a sideproject as everyone recognized that the sound really kicked seriously ass!!
So the bandmembers decided to leave their old bands and dedicated their whole concentration to the new project, named "MERVEN ORANGE".
The first album was released in Dezember 1996 and was titled "Loft".In 1997 the band played a lot of live gigs and had soon a sizeable following.
In late 1997 the band was renamed to "DAWN FADES" for various reasons.1998 the band recorded the long expected second album named "Brasil", as you can hear a great step forward in hardcore/metal, with a lot more concrete power
in it. With the new album a new tour was started, and some cool gigs were played, amongst other things with the Californian hardcore band "LOGICAL NONSENSE".
On this tour the first Live album simply called "DAWN FADES live 1998" was recorded at the Ballroom Esterhofen.On this album you can find some rare songs that were never recorded in
a studio.One year later, in 1999, the next studio album named "Daily head" was released, and with this one DAWN FADES breakes new ground, the band uses dark electronic sample sounds
in their songs. An extremely hard and precise sound comes into being. This sound also provides new live dimensions and the band obtains great acceptance in the hardcore scene.
In late 1999 the shock for the fans: DAWN FADES decided to have a breakdown in their career.
Heiner and Hartwig went to Berlin.In early 2000 there was a short reunion for a gig on the "Board and bike on snow Festival" in Austria,"DAWN FADES live 2000" was recorded there and
the "DAWN FADES Home Video" was filmed, which shows the band and their roadcrew rocking the whole night with their fans and the other musicians of this evening, and
giving you some tour impressions...Thenceforward it becomes quiet around "DAWN FADES".In Berlin, a short sideproject forms with the title "Quotations from the triplet", Hartwig plays the drums and sings, Heiner plays the bass,
they record a short Demo-CD,the sound is somewhere between Grunge and Stonerrock.Bene and Konno stay alive through various jam sessions with different musicians, nothing special appears.2005: Rumors are afloat, that Heiner plans to leave Berlin and come back to Munich.
Fact! Welcome back! Immediately the 3 start to jam together again.2006: The reunification is perfect!Hartwig is back to Munich again.Since late 2006 the band works again on new songs,according to press releases it is a very angry, habitual heavy
and aggressive sound that leaves nothing to be desired for Hardcore/Metal fans.News will be published here, so check out this site from time to time...In September 2008 dawnfades released their latest album "anger management", you can download it here or on the official website.
