About Me

The Sanctuary was set up at the end of 2006 to give teens in neath somewhere to go on a friday night that wont cost anything, where they can chat, play pool/snooker/air hocky/table football, have resonably priced soft drinks and sweets and just be themselves. At Sanctuary we are trying to do what people want and to this end we have a DJ who comes once a month and through our own promotions (under the name of Tearing Down The Walls) put on rock and metal events for all ages. The first event featured a band by the name of My Spoon from Manchester and attracted around 150 people who all had a great time and had an entry price of just £2. Through the summer and as the centre grows we will be holding football and rounders matches in local parks just to have some fun. Sanctuary and all the Tearing Down The Walls events are funder by Bethal Elim church based in the melyn. I would say 2 things about that which are 1. all the volunteer workers take pride in their faith and who funds this work. 2. our faith will not at any time be forced on anyone coming into the centre however if someone wants to talk/discuss it we are open to that. The main point of the centre is to provide a service to the youth of neath and the surrounding areaand give them somewhere they can go because lets face it places are lacking in the area. All are welcome to come and go as they please. We open 6.30 - 9.30ish every friday (with a few exceptions) and are based next to the Gwyn Hall in neath.
