I'm just a web programmer working for a non-profit by day; a podcaster playing the sort of music I like at night.
My first fanboy obsession was for the Electric Light Orchestra. "Out of the Blue" was the first album I ever wore out. God bless the Columbia Record and Tape Club. I was destined to be a fan of Power Pop from the first Beatles tunes.
My podcast is called Suitcase Full of Dimes and a new episode is posted as often as I can get them recorded, currently once every week or two. If you're a power pop artist (or even if your music is upbeat and melodic), email me a track, a site to link to in the blog, and maybe a short bio via and maybe I'll give it a spin on the show. Better yet, put some tracks up on the Podsafe Music Network so other podcasts can spin your tunes too. With the increasing dilution of radio, podcasting is quickly becoming one of the more important methods for independent artists to sell CDs and get people to their live shows.
Also, be sure to check out the podcast's Facebook page .
I've also started producing a short trivia segment for Pop Garden Radio called the Pop Garden Pop Quiz. The show usually airs on WMEL-AM 1300 every Saturday night at 10pm Eastern, with a live webstream available at www.popgardenradio.com and I hope you'll listen in and participate in the guessing that results in the chatroom .
Other podcasts that I'm really into include Brian Ibbott's Coverville podcast , which I urge you to check out if you've haven't already; Dr. Tony Shore's Obvious Popcast and the always bouncy NotLame Podcast .
