<**Ashley's "About Me"**>
If you ask anyone in my family they will tell you that I have been singing since the day I was born. I love music and I love to sing, I listen to all kinds of music but my passion is country. My brothers and sister love music also, but usually they like to listen to the person who recorded the song and not me!! So I was always asked, "Ashley, who sings this song?" I would answer and they would say, "Thats right, now let them sing it!!" They were forever telling me to be quiet, but I just kept on singing along. When my friends were planning out their futures, I would always try to picture myself in different careers, nothing really felt right to me. Music is my life, it makes me happy and if I could write songs and sing them and make other people happy, I would have the perfect career. Auditions for American Idol were going on and I decided that I was going to give it a shot. I went to a friends cottage with my sister and some friends for a weekend prior to the auditions and basically my plans were blown out of the water. To make a long story short, I was in a freak accident, fractured my skull, was bleeding into my brain, was air-lifted to a hospital, in and out of a consciousness for about a week and scared the heck out of my family. Not myself, because I did not remember much of what happened, except that I had this warm feeling of being watched over and comforted by my grandma and she told me I would be fine, that it was not my time and I was meant for bigger things in this world. I recovered, aged my folks about 20 years and missed my chance to audition for Idol. I was now more determined than ever to pursue my dream. I auditioned for a chance to go to a competition in LA and a chance to meet people that could help my career along. I went to LA and won the singing competition and met my producer from Upscale Records. In January of this year my mom and I packed up and moved to California to record some music. I hope that my songs will bring some smiles, some tears, some joy, some love into your lives. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be heard, I hope you like my music. The rest as they say is still unwritten.
