We are two film students from Seattle, Heather and Linda. We found the most rad female filmmaker, Lisa hammer! Even her name is that of a Valkrie! we think she's the next Lady David Lynch, We found her on her brother's page (James Merendino who dircted our FAVE movie SLC Punk!) Even though we're gay we want to have his babies so we made a fan page for him and for her!
So James tells me to talk to his sister after we wrestled the phone number from him... We call, and Lisa picks up and says, hello! Just like that, like a totally normal person. I always imagined her being carried in a litter by six lesbian greek slaves. I so feel like Eve and Lisa is Bette Davis.
We looked up lots of links on Lisa, and she has been apparently the queen of the underground scene in NYC since the 90's, and the singer of one of our fave goth bands Mors Syphilitica and according to magazine articles she and the band changed the whole goth scene dramticaly in the 90's. (small world!) AND she plays Triana on The Venture Brothers on the Cartoon Network! She was married to Doc Hammer (The Venture Brothers) but that marriage exlpoded with drama and intrique, which was all hush-hush. She won't tell us the rest. I feel like there's vague references to it in the show..Let us know if you notice it too...
Linda convinced Lisa to give us a bunch of photos and stories, for instance when she was in a shipwreck(?) and opened for Ministry at studio 54, then played a hula/singing saw/banjo gig in front of CNN cameras at a U. N. party with creepy old dignitaries groping her!!! Then some drunken Victorian bar brawls with friend Dame Darcy and Courtney Love. She's worked closely with family friend Ben Edlund who created "The Tick"...Her ancestor signed the declaration and conquered most of Califonia...Now she and her 'Terror Twin" brother James live in "Castle Terror" and are the exiled black sheep of several aristocratic family lines who disinherited them because they wont behave according to family rules and other BULLSHIT!....but Lisa's vague at best with this info...I think some of her family are in a coven, but I can't get a straight answer...
We hope they send us email updates on what films they are doing! I guess we're the new authority on the "Terror Twins"! Bow to us mere mortals!!!

Linda called it when she said James and Lisa are "weird, half-mad half twin bohemian rock star film makers" but they are so much more down to earth and humble than we thought they would be.

Check out her film "Period Piece" on youtube. It breaks all of the modern taboos and has to be the sickest, most deliciously offensive film about our monthly "friend." Check it out. When we saw Period Piece, Lisa told us it was just a silly joke... So we watch it and it's like Lisa re-invented the wheel but has no idea what she did.
Lisa is an inspiration to all women filmmakers. She makes us believe that women can do anything (And should!) GIRL POWER!
We can't wait to see her film "POX" this fall, and the horror movie that James and Lisa are making called "The Bitch"...Maybe they'll send us an early screener???

It looks like Lisa and James have found an old castle in England and are relocating to there, I hope they still make movies in America so we can see them!!!!
