A Puerto Rican male, born and raised in Boston and now living in Roslindale, MA, Scholar is a passionate writer / emcee. A critical member of JP Lime's vast talent pool, Scholar lists his major musical influences as Tupac, Nas, KRS One, Snoop Dogg, and Will Smith. His style is powerful and versatile, rapping with the type of energy and soul that strikes every listener. He has had a love of Rap music since the Kurtis Blow, Run DMC days and plans to ressurect the Golden Age of Hip Hop in a movement termed by he and fellow JP Lime bandmate Verse as 'The New Old School.'
Scholar began writing poetry back in the early 90s, but it was not until the mid 90s that he started to catalogue his writings and putting songs together. He hooked up with JP Lime in March of '05 and credits the group for his growth as a better, more well rounded emcee, performer, and entertainer. JP Lime's performances at such venues as McGann's Bar and The Paradise Lounge in Boston, MA as well as The Crossroads Bar and Grill in Vermont have showcased Scholar's blend of passion, swagger, and style on stage. He envisions JP Lime as ultimately becoming iconic in the music industry, the Beatles of Hip Hop. Together w/ the group, Scholar plans to literally 'change the game.' He strongly believes that there is a mass global market for intelligent, creative, conscious, and entertaining music and that major record labels and radio cannot look the other way any longer. The Revolution has arrived and JP Lime is leading the way. Scholar will not rest until Boston is on the map and Hip Hop is secured for the future.
