Tagging along with his older cousin, who was also a dj, he became familiar with music...specifically freestyle, dance, and house. Unable to afford his own dj equipment, The Tek perfected his mixing skills practicing long hours in his room with 2 boomboxes...yea, that's right-2 boomboxes and no mixer. Juggling between the play button and the pause button, The Tek would match the BPM. The Tek would even do his grade school dances with his boomboxes and rocked the house!! Once The Tek got older, he got his hands on his first dj setup. Throughout high school, DJ Calyte The Teknition was known for doing sweet 16's for the ladies and was even doing the higher classman's proms and was still rockin' the house!! The Tek was making a name for himself in the South Jersey area. But, being from Philly he had to represent. DJ Calyte The Teknition has filled in for dj's at Shampoo Night Club on Sunday's and the old Baja Night Club, now known as The Roxxy, & Casba in AC. Also, he's spun @ Club 27, The Woodbine, & Fluid Nightclub. The Tek has also spun at skating rinks and lounges throughout Camden, NJ. He was the resident dj at the legendary 6th St. Lounge in Camden for 3 years. While at 6th St, DJ Calyte The Teknition had the pleasure of working with Golden Boy and Skywalker from Power 99fm. The Tek has recently joined the team at LaRadioLive-- the 1 iRadio station-- in promoting latin freestyle and old school hip hop. DJ Calyte The Teknition is still on his grind rockin' clubs and private parties all over the Tri-State area. And now being in conjunction with LaRadio and LaFamilia, don't be surprised if you hear The Tek's unique sound in major cities across the nation. And as The Tek would say...
