About Me

NPR LIVE PERFORMANCE: Program- It's Friday! on 7/11/08

FLAGPOLE: "...it’s all that minor key with slow, slaggy feedback and faraway drumming. God, it’s good. Yeah. It’s good."

Bio After three years as the driving force behind deadboy and the Elephantmen, Tess Brunet is now writing new material to follow up her first release (EP) under the name Animal Electric. The EP shines with a dark, melodic clarity and reveals her no nonsense attitude and flair for acerbic verbal critique. The songs are folk gone mad. She plays the autoharp with a punch, running it through effects to get sounds rarely if ever heard from the instrument. Her voice will break your heart and the intensity of her drumming will knock you on your haunches. You can look forward to seeing her play in New Orleans and the surrounding areas in the near future. She'll also be playing under the name Fangtar with bandmate Landon Pallian.
