SIDS/JJKM

About Me

It began in the shadows of the refineries of Deer Park, TX in 1998. A hodge podge of magnetic tape, big star boxes , lycra, and silver nail polish. Out of the hours throbbing distortion at 4am and pounding headaches from thrashing jason's dad's vintage head phones came the first few JJKM tracks ever.In 2001 I joined the military and was soon swept up in the ensuing chaos of war. Before I knew it I found myelf far from home in a frozen dark place far from light. literally. Fairbanks Alaska. Over the next few years locked away inside for 9 months of the year hiding from the bitter cold and buried in grain alcohol, mail order cacti, and cartons of cigarettes JJKM slowly hammered out 2 independent albums through Ampcast records.Three years ago I returned home. Chomping at the bit to make this more than a studio project. After several failed attempts to make JJKM a non-solo project, including scrapping the project all together and starting a new one under the title Southern Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), I almost gave up.After a year or more of hiatus and cancer scares the itch to vent the noises in my head had become to irritating to ignore. I decided to abandon my visions of it evolving into a collaborative venture and had learned to be content with it being a solo project for now. As the gears were set back in motion I found JJKM was going in 2 directions at once. In an effort to keep JJKM on track as far as subject matter and form I've decided to retain SIDS as a separate project for all the moments of truly abrasive audio depravity that can barely be called musik and are really more just efforts to offend as many people as possible. The pieces are falling into place. A new album is coming together. And JJKM is officially back.:revkkoolaid:
