It's better to have it and not need it. Then to need it and not have it!
This is a networking type area for pat-alaska on ebay.
But also what I now call my Public page. So slowly I am moving things around. This page has been here the longest, and is linked to my ebay id. In the friends list I use the pat-alaska id just for applications. And in case someone searches under the id itself.
I also have a private page, shows me in my McCarty jersey. The URL is escape_hatch_pat. That is between me and 2 other people on what it means. But in short, that account is for people that I have a phone number for. Or if they showed up at my door at 2am, no questions asked they can hit the guest room or couch...

I actually did not give myself any of those names. But I won't deny that any can fit me. Pass Gate Pat was from my days in Security. Seemed like problems there all the time. Then after I ran it no problems. So I was kept there over a year. And the name stuck.
A comment that I hear from others about myself often: "Pat is very thorough!"
I would also say I am a "behind the scenes" type person. I have no interest in being the center of attention or the "star".
So yes I am a very Private person. (Some call it anti-social)
So now, let's get this out of the way. Yes, really Alaska.

So next, why Alaska ?
I was born here, (Fairbanks) but I have lived in North Pole, Seward, & most recently Kenai, Alaska.
I have not been "outside" (that’s what we call the lower 48 states) since 1998. But my travels have taken me into Canada and all along the West Coast and Hawaii, as well as Las Vegas.
Now to be honest there is just too much going on everywhere else. Here you get to feel like you count. You at least feel that way, I am not saying you're one voice or vote counts anymore up here than anywhere else. But you don’t get the feeling you are shouting a the top of your lungs in a room full of people either.
But also Alaska
Like most places you have to just deal with the "extras" that go along with living here.
Granted we are unique, and very, very Seasonal. If you forget about the weather at all, it will literally kill you. So a healthy respect for mother nature, and then also wildlife are two things you must keep track of. Or you just won’t last up here.
Now having said that. Myself I believe you either want to be up here, or you don't.
So like I said at the start, I am happy to answer any questions about Alaska!

Especially with so much of the world on the internet these days. If you don’t have your word, what do you have? (Don’t get me wrong, Stuff happens.
