Eddi p was a natural on stage ,so “The Luniz and Digital Underground decided to take him on tour hyping crowds and venues in New York, Los Angeles and throughout the U.S.In 2001 Eddi formed the rap trio “The Hittaz on da Payrollâ€. Together they released two well-received albums in Oakland’s Underground rap scene. “Underground Like Dead People, PT. 1†then released “Ghetto Storm: Presented by Numskull of the da Luniz in the same year. Eddi p having experienced touring with Bay Area legends and creating two successful albums with the group, Hittaz On da Payroll; was finally ready for the ultimate artist decision. He was ready to showcase himself as a solo artist. Eddi gathered all his knowledge and experience and dropped, “Eddi Projex Presents: Oakland Street Music, Vol. I†which re-introduced him as a solo artist.Eddi Projex also got big recognitions when he was featured on the song “Drank-A-Lot†featuring his mentors Money b and Numbskull was a big success. The video was the number 3 video on BET’s popular video show, Uncut Top Ten Videos. “Drank-A-Lot†gave the rest of the country an insight into Bay Area artists.
