Jim Hitchins and Empire

About Me

Jim Hitchins was born in Bath, England 1973. His musical roots firmly planted in jazz, and thereby trained as a percussionist, Jim went on to teach himself both guitar and piano. Like many British artists, Jim developed an affinity for contemporary American music, most specifically gospel, jazz, blues, funk, soul and rock. His influences ranging from Al Green and Marvin Gaye to John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Jim’s brand of “Neo-Soul” envokes the passion rich, sonar tapestry of Detroit and Motown fused together with guitar driven Southern rock that rumbles to cohesion over a jazz inspired backbeat.
