DIE!RAVEN!DIE! (originally named Rest In Peace) was founded by Malcolm, Roy and Victor in June 2007.After going through several vocalists, they finally found Michael from a local internet forum, and the quartet immediately hit it off and began writing songs.The name comes from the poem “The Raven”, written by the great American Romanticism writer Edgar Allan Poe. “The poem is about loss and grievances,” says frontman Michael, “an old man is reminded of all his sorrows and loneliness, by this mysterious raven that flies into his house one night. In the end, the poor old man is left there dejected and forever lives under the shadow of the raven.”“What this band is trying to do,” Michael explains, “is to lift people out of all their miseries, and not let ‘the raven’ get to you. That’s why we are called DIE!RAVEN!DIE!, we want it dead.”
